On February 19, 2020, public consultations were held at the Ceramics Museum regarding the project “Poland and Norway on the European Ceramics Route: inclusion of Bolesławiec and Porsgrunn in the international cooperation network of cities with ceramic traditions”, whose partners will be Telemark Museum (Norway), as well as the Municipality of Bolesławiec and the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec.
The aim of the meeting was to present the cultural offer and activities planned within the project and to discuss the presented offer. The consultations brought together many engaged local citizens. Among over 80 people, there were representatives of collectors’ associations, ceramic companies, state institutions, returnees’ associations, municipal cultural institutions, senior citizens’ associations, primary and secondary schools, trade unions and the media. Also represented were the Bolesławiec City Council, the Youth City Council (Młodzieżowa Rada Miasta Bolesławiec), as well as artists active in the city.
The meeting was the first stage of studies conducted by the IPC Research Institute from Wrocław, concerning the future cultural offer of the Ceramics Museum addressed to the city’s inhabitants and tourists. In the next phase of consultations, on February 25 – March 3, 2020, surveys were conducted throughout the Lower Silesian Voivodeship (by phone) and in Bolesławiec (online and in the form of face-to-face meetings). On the basis of the collected data, the Institute prepared a qualitative and quantitative analysis of public demand for the cultural offer of the museum planned in the Norwegian-Polish project.
