As part of this year’s Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival, a new exhibition was opened on August 21, 2021, presenting the achievements of local ceramic craftsmanship. It is a follow-up to the presentation organised in August 2016, which was subsequently shown in several Italian cities: Vietri-sul-Mare, Rome, Ancona and Faenza.
At the exhibition, we show the most interesting forms and decorations created by 30 companies, with a special place for the creations of two producers who recently celebrated their jubilees: Zakłady Ceramiczne BOLESŁAWIEC (75th anniversary) and “Ceramika Artystyczna” Artistic Handicraft Cooperative (70th anniversary).
The official opening attracted representatives of the ceramics industry and numerous Bolesławiec stoneware lovers. The guests were welcomed by Anna Bober-Tubaj (director of the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec), followed by Piotr Roman (president of the city of Bolesławiec) and representatives of ceramic companies: Helena Smoleńska (president of “Ceramika Artystyczna” Artistic Handicraft Cooperative), Wiesław Ogrodnik (president of Zakłady Ceramiczne BOLESŁAWIEC ), Paweł Zwierz (co-owner of Manufaktura in Bolesławiec) and Jarosław Rutyna (senior of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Brotherhood, owner of WR Ceramika). All guests received catalogues presenting the participating companies.
This year’s exhibition was created in cooperation with the Municipality of Bolesławiec and with the Association of Ceramic Communities of the Republic of Poland. This is the first presentation prepared as part of the cross-border project – “Poland and Norway on the European Ceramics Route: incorporating Bolesławiec and Porsgrunn into the international cooperation network of cities with ceramic traditions”, in which the partners are the Municipality of Bolesławiec, the Norwegian Telemark Museum and the European Ceramics Route.
The exhibition can be visited free of charge until mid-October 2021.
